Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
Childhood maltreatment has been associated with many outcomes over the course of development from childhood into adulthood. Using data from a prospective cohort design study with documented cases of childhood maltreatment and demographically matched controls, this panel describes new research that focuses on three important outcomes of maltreatment in middle adulthood and late midlife, including partner violence, elder abuse, and mortality risk. Also included is a paper on the impact of witnessing family, peer, and community members arrests on youth mental health that uses cross-sectional data from a racially and ethnically diverse sample of urban youth.
