This panel explores innovative, technological advancements and their impact on probation and parole agencies. The presentations in this panel will delve into three key innovations: 1) electronic monitoring, 2) mobile application to facilitate the working alliance between clients and officers, and 3) a mobile application to support virtual supervision. Themes across these presentations include how these technologies contribute to probation outcomes (e.g., compliance and recidivism), the role of technology in fostering communication and relationships, and a discussion of the ethical considerations. Finally, the potential for these innovations to shape the future of community corrections will be discussed.
