Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
The goal of Latino/a/x criminology is to exchange, promote, and disseminate knowledge that contributes to criminological expertise and understanding of the rapidly growing U.S. Latina/o/x population. This panel features work from leading and rising scholars in Latino/a/x criminology. Presentations will explore diverse topics including ethnoracial identity construction and social boundaries inside prisons, perceptions of school safety among Latinx youth, and navigating racial identities in three lenses to comprehend gang experiences. These presentations highlight adaptive strategies for survival in different contexts.
