Criminal legal system contact is associated with a variety of life course detriments concerning both subsequent offending and outcomes in other life domains. The papers in this panel examine how early touch points with the system may hold long term consequences for health, how legal system decision points influence subsequent offending, and how variation in system contact (treatment versus traditional) may result in divergent outcomes.
