This panel delves into critical aspects of Probation and Parole in Georgia. One of the primary focuses is the evaluation of Georgia’s Senate Bill 105 that provides for routes to early discharge of probation subject to individuals meeting various criteria. The first paper investigates the factors influencing override decisions in actuarial risk assessments and examines equity in these decisions across social groups. The following papers employ multi-method approaches to analyze how criteria of SB105 impacts early termination petition approvals along with analyses of SB105’s impact on rearrest rates and community supervision officer caseloads.
