Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
Decades of research have identified various risk factors associated with IPV, and criminologists and public health practitioners have developed a variety of interventions at the individual, relational, and societal levels informed by basic research. While many interventions have been implemented, the hidden problem of IPV necessitates finding ways to prevent harm. Technology seems a viable option that could reach millions of people at risk and save their lives from harm and associated social costs. This panel aims to illustrate the benefits of translating the knowledge gained from basic social science research and customer discovery into developing a digital tool for preventing Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).
