Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
In 2021, RTI International (RTI) received funding from the National Institute of Justice, US Department of Justice, to conduct a 4-year study of the long-term impacts of the 5-Key Reentry Model (5-Key), an innovative, evidence-based well-being focused intervention developed, piloted, and evaluated from 2018 to 2022 by researchers at the Florida State University’s Institute for Justice Research and Development (FSU; now at Wellbeing and Equity Innovations, WEI). RTI’s study consists of three components: a long-term recidivism analysis to measure 5-Key impact, qualitative interviews with 5-Key research participants to explore their long-term reentry experiences, and a cost analysis of the resources required to implement and operate the 5-Key reentry intervention. This thematic panel presents study findings from each evaluation component and explores the implications of these findings and recommendations for reentry policy and practice and future research.
