Rural criminology has gained increasing attention as scholars and practitioners recognize the unique crime patterns, justice challenges, and social dynamics shaping rural communities. This panel brings together experts to discuss recent theoretical, methodological, and policy advancements in the field. Topics include environmental pollution, restorative justice and fear of deportation, violence in areas on the rural-urban continuum, and a discussion of international, interdisciplinary and non-urban-centric approaches to sustainable crime prevention. Each presenter will discuss data, methods, results, and the practical and theoretical implications of their research.
