Session Submission Type: Complete Thematic Panel
This panel explores innovative community-based violence intervention strategies that enable neighborhoods to take ownership of their public safety. By centering the voices of victims and giving them stakeholdership, we pave the way for holistic responses to violence that account for the complexities of trauma and community dynamics. Participants will discuss the importance of including individuals impacted by violence, including former perpetrators, as key stakeholders in developing effective solutions. Together, we will examine case studies, share best practices, and foster dialogue on building resilience and trust within communities, ultimately transforming the narrative around violence and safety into one of empowerment, healing, and shared responsibility.
