Abstract: Preparing for a university student study abroad is an exciting endeavor, but it may not be as easy as it seems. There are setbacks, surprises and successes.
Dr. Barbara Morrell, Professor of Criminal Justice at St. Joseph's University will share her recent experience taking a group of students to Germany and gaining access to two of their progressive prisons, JVA Waldeck in Berlin, and JVA Billwerder in Hamburg.

Dr. Mark Foxall. Ph.D., CJM, University of Nebraska at Omaha will share his experiences in taking students to London, England.

Dr. Kizzie Donaldson-Richard, Ph.D., Albany State University, Georgia will share her experiences in taking student to South Africa.


Hillary Farber, Professor of Law, University of Massachusetts School of Law will share
her recent experiences creating a curriculum and teaching a two week intensive course
in comparative criminal law at Catolica University in Lisbon, Portugal.
