Session Submission Type: Roundtable Sessions
Persons attending this roundtable discussion will hear findings from research on structural co variables and contextual experiences of socio-economic deprivation in crime and violence within and across Caribbean countries. The findings and discussion will involve researchers within and outside of the English- Speaking Caribbean studying crime and violence in the region.
Presenters and discussants will share thoughts on the history and representation of socio-economic deprivation, theory, measurement, and conclusions in the research done in the Caribbean. Topics expected to be part of the discussion include gangs, crime trends, risk and protective factors in youth violence.
