Session Submission Type: Roundtable Sessions
The session shall explore different formats of bringing an international perspective into Criminal Justice. It is open to anyone interested in comparative research and teaching opportunities. After the roundtable we hope to have gathered new ideas and gained potential new dialogue partners.
Exploring a different legal system and comparing it to one’s own Criminal Justice system can provide vital insights to students and researchers alike. This can be achieved by opening up Dialogues on Criminal Justice between teaching or research groups in different countries. Participants will give examples of dialogue formats and detail their experiences with these programs. A dialogue could be as simple as setting up a virtual seminar via zoom or as intricate as a comparative research program. Not only does this approach help students to understand their own system better. The international perspective can often serve as inspiration for new research questions for each participant. Furthermore, we would like to explore possibilities for joint research projects in the field of Comparative Criminal Justice.
