Session Submission Type: Roundtable Sessions
The Division of International Criminology (DIC) serves as a vibrant, inclusive community—one that empowers scholars to thrive in a global academic environment and encourages sustained international collaboration in criminological research and practice. This roundtable, sponsored by the DIC Membership Committee, brings together educators, researchers, practitioners, and students to explore practical strategies and community resources that support international criminologists at all stages of their careers. Grounded in varied insights shared by members, this session offers a space to discuss key topics critical to professional development and global engagement in the field. Discussion topics include tips for publishing in international journals, navigating the U.S. job market as an international scholar, and the value of student organizations for international students. Participants will also explore how the DIC can assist with mentorship, identifying research collaborators, and increasing the visibility and impact of scholarly work. Attendees will gain practical advice, make connections with like-minded peers, and learn how DIC fosters a supportive network for emerging and early-career criminologists.
