Abstract/Description

This workshop is for R users who want to create publication-ready graphs and maps. We’ll cover how to make and customize barplots, line graphs, and scatterplots, followed by how to build hotspot and choropleth maps. We’ll also discuss when graphs and maps are most useful - and when they’re not. The focus is on clear, practical code and producing figures ready for publication. We’ll use real crime data throughout the session. All data and code will be shared in advance for hands-on participation. Participants should be familiar with R and RStudio, including basic data wrangling.
