Policing, in many jurisdictions, continues to grapple with declining public trust and confidence, contested institutional legitimacy, evolving societal expectations, and a conflicted professional identity. Despite the pressing need for reform, policing institutions are frequently criticized for their resistance to change and perceived organizational inertia. Drawing on both research and practice, this roundtable explores the strategic shifts required in policing (such as redefining mission and enhancing leadership development) to better guide, measure, and correct the outcomes that matter.
