Abstract

Taking as its staring point the Berlin-Moskau, 1900-1950 exhibition that took place at the State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow and the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin (1995), this paper will reassess the complex and changing narratives, which underpin the historiography of the cross-cultural relations between Germany and Soviet Russia between the First World War and the Post-Soviet period
