Created for the 10 year anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution, Vsevolod Pudovkin's The End of Saint Petersburg portrays the breakdown of local, national, familial and finally, personal identities in order to achieve a climate of self-sacrifice, which seems to include even intentional starvation.
