This panel explores Russian international relations during the nineteenth century. The papers probe Russian activity in Spain during the Napoleonic Wars, Russia and the Eastern Question from the Congress of Vienna until the Crimean War, as well as Russian activity in Central Asia. Each paper draws on different sources, published and archival, to contribute to the scholarly understanding of Russian foreign policy and global connections at this time.
