Russia in Confrontation with Europe

Session Submission Type: Roundtable

Brief Description

The roundtable will gather together prominent scholars based in Russia, Europe, and the United States to highlight and debate key domestic and international aspects of Russia-Europe relations as well as prospects for their continuity and change, including the U.S. foreign policy, Brexit, EU politics, migration, the Donbas war and Crimea annexation, international sanctions on Russia, Russia's domestic politics and society, Eurasian geopolitics, and other issues. The roundtable format is viewed as particularly advantageous given the fluidity of these factors in light of the arrival in power of the new U.S. administration, upcoming elections in major European countries, and continuing uncertainties over Ukraine-Russia conflict.
