This panel examines the Comintern and communist internationalism through the telling of individual stories. Engaging the 2018 conference theme of “performance,” the panelists all look at the lives and careers of individuals living between their homelands and the USSR. These stories take place in the Soviet Union, Turkey, and France from the early 1920s to start of the Cold War.
