Session Submission Type: Panel

Yet, in the recent development of very rich historiography on the Russian Empire, commerce and economy in general took a decidedly second seat in comparisons to issues of identity and representation. This panel aims to explore how economic activity intersected with ethnic, social, or confessional difference in imperial Russia.
