Traditionally Ukrainian national movement of the end of the nineteenth century has been presented in vague details. Except for the leaders like M. Hrushevsky or Ie. Chykalenko, not much is known about Ukrainian nationalism from below: who were its activists, how many of them took part in Ukrainian activities, where did they come from? This paper, based on archival research of correspondence, which was sent to Ukrainian media in 1906–1914, focuses on rank and file Ukrainian activists of the time, presenting, among other things, their spatial distribution.
