Session Submission Type: Panel
This panel offers three papers highlighting new, unpublished archival research on postwar Stalinism (1945-1953). Together, they foreground the dilemmas of party rule and administration in a broad survey focusing on individual case studies drawn both from the center of the USSR and its periphery. Each paper is also revisionist, proposing major correctives to the developing literature on the period.
