Session Submission Type: Roundtable
In recent years, a challenging job market has led many graduate students to consider careers in fields that support academic research. However, such a transition often requires entering the market with minimal information about what these jobs are like, and how best to prepare and train for them. This roundtable brings together professionals with a background in Slavic Studies who now work in various facets of librarianship, digital scholarship, and data management. Topics covered include exploration of what such careers entail, pathways and trajectories for such careers within a graduate program, integrating career training into graduate curricula, and the “alt-ac” job landscape more broadly.
