This panel addresses issues of language and identity as they relate to the translation of gender, sexuality, and non-binary identities into and out of Russian. The panelists discuss these concerns from the perspective of linguistic categories, terminology, and poetics, and address a variety of source texts. Participants address the issues of gender and sexuality in prose and poetry translation, as well as in non-fiction texts, such as journalism and literature of psychoanalysis.
