Drawing from a wide range of archival sources, including "Special Folders," documents, and correspondence from the military department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan (b), this paper will showcase the mobilization capacities of the Republic during the war years. Both quantitative and qualitative aspects will be analyzed. It will be shown that the excessive norms of labor mobilization resulted in military commissions sending individuals who were either too young or too old, pregnant women, women with young children, and those unfit for labor conscription due to health reasons, among others.
