Antonych’s Poetic Search for Praslovo, the Primeval Word

Thu, November 21, 2:00 to 3:45pm EST (2:00 to 3:45pm EST), Boston Marriott Copley Place, Floor: 4th Floor, Provincetown

Abstract

Antonych shared the belief of other modernists that the primeval word stands at the origins of time and thus bridges the present day with the paradise lost of genuine harmony between the human being and nature. His thought is close to that of other modernists such as Eliot and Yeats, who investigated the past of language in order to surmount the crisis of culture and the state of human alienation that characterized modern civilization.
