The paper reinterprets the history of international organizations based in East-Central Europe during the Cold War as transnational networks. The NGOs are interpreted as fluid spaces co-constructed by the actors in it – individuals and organizations, both non-state and state from the East, the West, and also from the South. These networks became important producers of socialist internationalism, and it was the delegates, correspondents, partners and member organizations from the Global South who co-created a strong anti-colonial agenda within these networks.
