This paper examines the performance or contestation of traditional modes of masculinity in contemporary Balkan music performed by queer or queer-friendly artists. The primary point of reference will be the music and videos of Damjan Loš, a Serbian turbofolk artist from the 2010s, who achieved iconoclastic fame in some circles through his provocative "Ne diraj mi fegete" ("Don't touch my f*ggots") turbofolk song and video.
