Abstract

This paper seeks to unveil the reasons behind the shift of the Soviet Union’s view of the PLO from negligence to support after the June 1967 war and in the 1970s. Further developing the research of anti-imperialism in Soviet ideology, it shows how it was affected by the transformation of Arab-Israeli conflict into a struggle for Palestinian liberation.
