Arduous Memorialization: Confronting Soviet State Antisemitism Legacies in Modern-Day Kyiv

Sun, November 24, 8:00 to 9:45am EST (8:00 to 9:45am EST), Boston Marriott Copley Place, Floor: 4th Floor, Grand Ballroom Salon B

Abstract

This paper will address the lingering legacy of Soviet antisemitism that still casts a shadow over memorialization policies in Ukraine. In reality, all kinds of public narratives in the Soviet state were invented, approved, and controlled by the powers that be in Moscow.
