Iconic Literacy of War Memes and the Liberating Perspective of the Ukrainian Media Landscape

Abstract

Meme’s series created by students (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv) are examined as a form of iconic literacy. Techniques of students working with the text and images as parameters of information resistance are reconstructed with the method of case analysis. The units of media analysis of the liberation practices of Knowledge and perception of the Ukrainian media landscape are proposed based on the conducted research.
