Fri, November 22, 10:00 to 11:45am EST (10:00 to 11:45am EST), Boston Marriott Copley Place, Floor: 3rd Floor, Brandeis

Abstract

Constructing a liberating narrative in today's media landscape is a complex and multifaceted process that involves the creation and dissemination of stories that promote societal change, activate public consciousness, and support the desire to achieve positive change. Such narratives can be reflected in various media forms, including online platforms, social networks, independent media, and blogs. However, the conditions of the political and media environment in Russia complicate the spread of such narratives and their impact on society. The Russian media landscape has its representation of the “liberation” narrative, its form, and clear elements of content.
