This study investigates how different historical narratives about WWII affect support for Ukraine since February 2022 among families with and without a Russian migratory background living in Germany. The study conducts a pre-registered survey experiment that exposes individuals to the historical frame that emphasize either Ukrainian or Russian victimhood during WWII, or German resistance to fascism. The paper explores how historical narratives work among different generations and how they depend on family history and memories.
