Abstract

Julia Kristeva’s Bulgarian origin and the need to take it into consideration while positioning herself in French intellectual society and linguistic milieu, gave her the opportunity to question the natural linguistic attitude and to talk about abandonment in language. The aim of this paper is to explore the position of what Roland Barthes calls l'étrangère, wanderlust or exile, not so much in the sense of origin, but in the sense of the practice of thinking as such.”
