Sat, November 23, 2:00 to 3:45pm EST (2:00 to 3:45pm EST), Boston Marriott Copley Place, Floor: 5th Floor, Vermont

Abstract

The paper explores the dynamics of belonging among young adults with Russian backgrounds in Canada. Through an original parent-child survey conducted in 2024, the presentation aims to unravel the factors influencing homeland attachment, considering socio-economic status, transnational ties, family composition, language use, and exposure to different political regimes. The study contributes valuable insights into the emotional integration of the second generation within the multicultural Canadian context.
