I will examine the musical production of Aydin Nuralin (maslo chernogo tmina), a Qazaq rap artist from Karaganda, whose songs and music videos can be perceived as scenes of artistic, cultural, and social transgression. This social transgression, in turn, offers opportunities for social and cultural liberation.
