Abstract

The second paper introduces an innovative approach to teaching Russian history through art. Teaching Russian history starting from Kievan Rus to 1917 Revolution through art offers an engaging approach to exploring the multifaceted narratives and cultural expressions of the country's past. By integrating visual arts, such as paintings from museums, educators can provide students with a richer understanding of historical events, societal norms, and cultural values. Moreover, art provides a platform for exploring the lives of ordinary people, offering glimpses into their experiences, beliefs, and aspirations across different historical epochs. Through discussions, research projects, and journal writing, educators can create dynamic learning experiences that encourage students to explore, question, and reflect on the complexities of Russian history and its influence on contemporary society.
