Abstract

In “Komsomolka Zoia 100 Years On: Constructing Post-Soviet Russian Identity in Museums Dedicated to Zoia Kosmodemianskaia,” Adrienne Harris presents a paper on recent museums and museum exhibits dedicated to partisan martyr Zoia Kosmodemianskaia and these museums’ contributions tonational identity (primarily through educational efforts) in both the Soviet and post-Soviet periods. She pays special attention to the choices of Zoia art—new or reproduced Stalin era art--included in the exhibitions and analyzes which aspects of Zoia’s biography remain relevant for Russian identity inthe late 2010s-2020s.
