Many heritage students cite “identity” as the principal reason for studying the language. The presentation aims to show the specific meaning and use of digital storytelling in the “Russian for Heritage Students” course. It argues that this technology tool helps heritage students not only to reflect on a personal experience, but to “re/construct” their unique language identity. I will focus on different stages of the project, the multiliteracy theory behind it, assessment criteria, and students’ reflections on their digital storytelling experience.
