I will explore the framework for preparing graduate student instructors to teach Russian language courses at a large private university. This preparation includes a specialized language methods course, a dedicated course on pedagogical Russian grammar, and weekly meetings designed to debrief and analyze lessons. I will delve into the challenges and obstacles encountered during the implementation of this program, drawing on real-world examples and experiences. Furthermore, I will discuss potential solutions and strategies that have emerged as effective in enhancing the teaching capabilities of graduate students.
