In Event: Remembering the Soviet Past: Oral History, Mass Culture, Literature, and Cultural Politics
This paper presents findings from fieldwork in Moldova, focusing on oral histories of the Soviet era. Comparing post-Soviet memory across regions and generations, the study spans Moldova's diverse landscape, including the North, Chisinau, Gagauzia, and Transnistria, with respondents ranging in age from their twenties to nineties. The results reveal nuanced perceptions of the Soviet era shaped by generational and regional backgrounds. The research was based on qualitative methods, emphasizing in-depth interviews and thematic analysis.
