Franko's Masks of Transgressive Innocence

Sun, November 24, 12:00 to 1:45pm EST (12:00 to 1:45pm EST), Boston Marriott Copley Place, Floor: 3rd Floor, Boston University

Abstract

In his later works where psychological deviance and transgression become more prominent, Franko develops a set of character traits and behaviors in his fictional characters through which wrongdoers hide and disguise their malfeasance. These traits run the gamut from simple obfuscation to complex psychological self deception. An examination of these psychological masks and projections helps reveal some of the personal and philosophical issues that preoccupy Franko in his later creative period.
