The space for transnational environmental activism and international philanthropy was closing in Russia even before the invasion of Ukraine, and now these connections have become nearly impossible. How have transnational environmental groups and funders shifted their activities in response to these restrictions and the environmental consequences of the war? This paper examines these questions through in-depth interviews with transnational environmental organizations, international funders, and environmental activists.
