In this paper, the philosopher and cultural theorist Mikhail Epstein will discuss Artificial Intelligence as a Faustian Idea. Beginning with the quote from Part II of Goethe’s Faust, in which it is predicted that “the brain of a thinker” is so artful that with time will create “an artificial thinker,” Epstein will discuss Artificial Intelligence as a contemporary phenomenon, which should be placed in a creative and productive dialogue with humanities and enrich it.
