Temporary Logic: Precaution, Landscape, and Suspected Hazardous Areas

Sat, November 23, 8:00 to 9:45am EST (8:00 to 9:45am EST), Boston Marriott Copley Place, Floor: 5th Floor, New Hampshire

Abstract

This paper explores how a precautionary logic, the marking off of areas suspected of landmine contamination, is utilized by state and international organizations with the discourse of protecting the population. I argue that this logic, without timely removal of unexploded ordinances such as landmines, is flawed and creates a negative peace.
