In this paper, I demonstrate the various strategies that bisexual Russian authors have employed in order to situate their work and personas in a distinctly bisexual space. Through analysis of work by writers such as Snezhana Ra and Vadim Kalinin, I explore how Russian authors have attempted to articulate bisexual subjectivity in their work without it instead being read as ‘gay’ or ‘lesbian’. I consider how linguistic strategies, literary influences, and thematization contribute to the generation of their bisexual aesthetics.
