Post-Yugoslav Literature as a Regional, Multilingual Literature

Sun, November 24, 12:00 to 1:45pm EST (12:00 to 1:45pm EST), Boston Marriott Copley Place, Floor: 3rd Floor, Wellesley

Abstract

This presentation considers how contemporary literature from the Yugoslav region might be conceived of and taught as a regional, multilingual literature, especially in a North American setting. This presentation will also consider the position of languages other than BCMS in this literature (ie, Slovene, Macedonian, Albanian) and various examples of regional cooperation across national and linguistic borders like residencies, publishing, festivals, and the new Stefica Cvek prize.
