Something’s Missing: Yugoslav Literature from the Standpoint of Redemption

Sun, November 24, 12:00 to 1:45pm EST (12:00 to 1:45pm EST), Boston Marriott Copley Place, Floor: 3rd Floor, Wellesley

Abstract

The task of (critical) thinking, Adorno famously wrote in Minima Moralia, is to grasp its own impossibility for the sake of the possible. Yugoslav literature is and has been exactly that kind of cultural and political project, one that creates the conditions of its own possibility by negating all those historical, social, and cultural forces that have conspired to keep it from view.
