The paper explores the origins and characteristics of Belarusian national drama and focuses on the intermezzi found in the 17th-century manuscript known as the "Codex of Orsha," which originated from Jesuit Colleges in Orsha. Through structural and linguistic analysis of the genre scenes often staged between acts of the main play and performed in the vernacular, this study aims to illuminate the cultural significance of these works and contributes to the understanding of Belarusian drama and its historical context within European theatrical culture.
